2008 SEMA Show
Last week we attended Automotive Aftermarket Week (SEMA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. As an exhibitor, we displayed PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems to interested parties (car owners as well as RVers and Truckers/Fleet Owners). The Las Vegas Convention Center is so huge, it is actually over-whelming, and requires several days to cover and see all of the exhibitor booths, encompassing two levels of the enormous building (several blocks long by several blocks deep in size with overpasses spanning the streets). The array of automobiles and accessories was awesome!
One of our PressurePro Dealers, Gilpin Sulky LLC, had a couple of booths next to us. They brought (drove) the world’s largest wrecker truck all the way from Massachusetts to demonstrate its ability to recover large truck and airplane wrecks/crashes, etc. Of course, it required a police escort and special permits too, so it was quite a spectacle as it was being driven into the exhibitor space which was outside at the front of the Convention Center.
They also exhibited, in their two inside booths, the Mercedez Smart Car. Dubbed as being a car that will let you have fun while being environmentally responsible, this one offered PressurePro TPMS, in addition to maximum fuel economy, a Kenwood head unit with a read camera, a radio, CD, DVD, bluetooth, and touchscreen navigation. The bright green convertible model was exhibited for its fuel economy in the “green area” of the Center.
All in all, the week was a fantastic, rewarding experience: educational as well as entertaining.
